Invincible Season 5

Invincible season 4 just concluded setting up an incredible future for the show. But, everyone’s burning question, what will happen next? Of course we could all just pick up the comic book from where the series left off, but honestly I’m enjoying being in the dark for this one and have been watching the show first then reading the comic to compare the two so far. So, we decided to do an article on all our theories and speculations for the Invincible season 5 Plot.

Please note, these are just our own speculations and theories, this is not a leaked plot or in anyway taken from the comics and might be drastically different.

Robot and Monster Girl will return

Starting the theories off with quite an obvious choice, the return of Monster Girl and Robot. I am certain we all almost forgot these two have found themselves trapped in another dimension, well their return is inevitable… surely? I would hope this was not a way to just get rid of these two extremely loveable characters, after all they went through a portal on earth to this other dimension so in theory the technology already exists for them to return home, they just have to make it happen.

Something that’s been playing on my mind is about the increased ageing factors of this new dimension. I’m not sure if that would have an effect on Monster Girl or Robot since they come from Earth when returning home, but I’m interested to know whether or not it would have some sort of repercussions while they are in the other dimension.

Debbie and Nolan will build their relationship back up

Now, I’m going to be completely honest here, as much as I now love Nolan I really do not want this one to come true. After everything he did to Debbie, I hope she is the tough nut we know and love and doesn’t breakdown so easily. However, it is quite possible that with Nolan and Debbie about to spend a lot of time together on a different planet looking after Oliver, Debbie might start to remember why she fell for Nolan to begin with.

This would honestly make quite a good storyline, even if it was to end up with Debbie turning Nolan down, but I think where her character is at right now this would just not feel completely natural. Although, who wouldn’t fall for that glorious moustache and rock hard abs.

Thragg and Mark will be forced to team up

This is honestly something I really like the idea of, but just imagine for a second, Cecil finds out what Mark has agreed to, then sends The Guardians hunt for Thragg and the other Viltrumites. In that situation, how can Mark possibly stay out of it when he made that deal with Thragg that they can rebuild in peace? With all of humanity at stake, I think mark would simply be forced to take Thragg’s side to show he’s sticking to his end of the deal and protect humanity.

Perhaps this will even end up being a fight to stop the outbreak of the Scourge Virus. Either way I feel it is very likely these two will team up in some capacity.

Allen the Alien will find out that the Viltrumites are living on Earth

This one, I believe, is also inevitable. With the Coalition of Planets scouting the galaxies, they are sure to realise sooner rather than later where the Viltrumites are. What Allen would do with that information I am not completely sure about. This is a complete moral dilemma, on one hand he should alert the Coalition and make a plan to go to earth to defeat them once and for all, but on the other hand if he interferes in any way he risks the entire Human race.

This surely means there is only one way forward… which brings us to my final theory.

The Scourge Virus will affect people on Earth

If Allen and the Coalition of Planets finds out where the Viltrumites are on Earth, they cannot ignore the fact. Due to their close bond it is likely in this case Allen would meet with Mark, probably assuming he does not already know, which could go one of two ways; Allen gets angry at Mark for not making the Coalition aware of this, or Allen is understanding of Mark not mentioning and knows they have to be more cautious. Either way, that is absolutely going to lead to the Scourge Virus being used.

Perhaps Allen will use it in rage at Mark in a sort of ‘F humans’ kind of way, or he believes this is the only way to protect humanity and destroy the Viltrumites. Unless we all pick up the comics, we will not know for sure, but I can say with absolute certainty that the Scourge Virus is going to be a key focus in season 5.

Conclusion

Invincible season 5 is without a doubt going to be big. Mark has certainly caused some problems with the conclusion of season 4, it’s hard to imagine this being settled peacefully. One thing’s for sure, if any of our theories are correct, season 5 is going to be the best season released as of yet.
