Most Anticipated Comics of 2025
What to Read and When to Find Them
New year, new comic books, and what an exciting year it is looking to be! With some limited time series coming to an end, new stories beginning, and universes expanding, we are hardly short for content. There are some, however, which shine above the rest and that’s where this list comes in.
In this article, we will be looking at some of the most anticipated comics of 2025, when they will be released, and what they are all about, leaving no stones unturned. While this article is mostly opinion based, we have taken into consideration popular opinions and projections whilst compiling our list.
It is important to note we are still in the early days of 2025, which means there are still comic books yet to be announced, so we will update the article as frequently as possible when news of something big comes in!
Legacy of Vader

Set between the events of The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, Legacy of Vader will explore Kylo Ren’s deeper connection to his grandfather, Darth Vader, and the internal battle he is now facing between right and wrong. Over the last few years, writer Charles Soule has become a favourite of mine since the release of Hell to Pay, and having him joined by artist Luke Ross (The Force Awakens) is sure to make this comic something real special to start off the year.
Legacy of Vader releases February 5th.
One World Under Doom

With Doctor Doom’s upcoming influence with the MCU, it is hardly surprising that a Doom-centric comic made it on this list… but we couldn’t be more excited! One World Under Doom is set in a world where Sorcerer Supreme Doom becomes all powerful and declares himself Emperor of the World. Speculation has it, this will be a similar storyline to what we see in the MCU, so if you are a fan of the MCU, this might be the comic for you. This one is written by another favourite of mine Ryan North, who is responsible for Star Trek: Lower Decks comic books, joined by R.B. Silva (Powers of X).
One World Under Doom releases February 12th.
Absolute Flash

The Absolute universe is quickly becoming one of the most popular series under DC’s catalogue at the moment. With that comes three new comics to the All In initiative, the first one being Absolute Flash. In this comic, we will see Wally West train to be the fastest man alive, without the speed force or the help of the Flash family. If you were not sold yet, Absolute Flash is written by the brilliantly talented Jeff Lemire (Sweet Tooth) and drawn by the sensational Nick Robles (Nightwing) – with the success of the Sweet Tooth Netflix adaptation, this is sure to be a hit.
Absolute Flash starts March 19th.
Absolute Martian Manhunter

The second Absolute comic series to start in 2025, Absolute Martian Manhunter. Writer Deniz Camp (20th Century Men) with artist Javier Rodriguez (The Amazing Spider-Man) come together to create this unique twist on another beloved character, but this time, Martian Manhunter is an alien consciousness who takes over the body of FBI agent John Jones causing him to slowly derail into insanity. I’m sure Martian’s intentions are good, but the likeness to Venom in this comic is a huge selling point for fans.
Absolute Martian Manhunter starts March 26th.
Absolute Green Lantern

The third addition to the Absolute universe’s 2025 schedule is Absolute Green Lantern. Writer Al Ewing (The Immortal Hulk) and incredible artist Jahnoy Lindsay (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto) come together to tell the story of Jo Mullein, Hal Jordan, John Stewart and Guy Gardner as they become the Green Lanterns (without the Corp). This will be a good test for DC to see how the readers respond to a group of superheroes in one comic, bringing us hope for an Absolute Justice League later down the line.
Absolute Green Lantern starts April 2nd.
Spider-Verse Vs Venomverse

The biggest crossover event, where the Spidey allies team up to defend the Web of Life and Destiny, while the team of symbiotes work together to defend themselves. The series kicks off with The Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood where some of the best creative minds, writers Greg Pak, Chris Eluopoulos and Matthew Groom, and an even bigger bill of artists, come together to give us a unique origin story for the crossover event, before the 5-issue limited series drops.
The Web of Spider-Verse: New Blood releases March 5th. The series continues with Web of Venomverse: Fresh Brains releasing April 2nd.
Predator versus Spider-Man

The crossover you never knew you wanted, but you know you won’t be able to resist reading it. We’ve seen Spider-Man face off against many aliens and creatures over the years, but this has to be the most intriguing by far. Let’s just hope that it will be executed well. If anyone can do it it’s Benjamin Percy – after all, he did an excellent job with Predator versus Wolverine.
Predator versus Spider-Man is set to release April 23rd.
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast

The last entry on this list might be the one fans are most excited for – another dive into Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley’s iconic world, Invincible Universe: Battle Beast. This is the first time an Invincible comic has been on shelves in 7 years, meaning it will likely be a hit – especially since fans of the Invincible universe have been waiting for a Battle Beast spin off since he was first introduced. Invincible Universe: Battle Beast will also feature a blind bag program allowing fans to gain any cover variants and sometimes a rare surprise comic that will not be publicly announced ahead of release, so if this takes your fancy, put your Kindle down, and pop to your local comic book store, and pick up your blind bag on release.
Invincible Universe: Battle Beast starts April 16th.

2025 is going to be another big year for comic books. With the amount of new series set to release there has never been a better time to start reading! If you are new to this world, just choose one of the series in this list when they release, and thank us later.
