Most Anticipated Fall 2025 Anime

The Best Upcoming Fall 2025 Anime

Summer 2025 was an incredible season of anime. Whether it was enjoying the wackiness of DAN DA DAN Season 2, falling in love with the character of The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, or just being in complete awe of The Summer Hikaru Died, it felt like every day of the week during the Summer 2025 anime season had something to offer, in an anime season that truly felt like it had something for everyone. Even the ongoing shows from Summer 2025, such as Gachiakuta, are undoubtedly going to leave a positive mark on the Fall 2025 anime season. With that in mind, it’s time for Fall 2025 to begin, and as always, seasonal changes can be a stressful time for anime watchers who want to keep any sense of control over their watch calendars – so we’re here to help!

Today, we’re talking about the most anticipated Fall 2025 anime. We’ve chosen eight upcoming releases that we think are the must-watch content of the season. We won’t be including ongoing Summer 2025 series on this list, but if you want to catch-up on what Summer 2025 had to offer, you can read our list here. For this list, we’re also looking at keeping our genre-net broad, with something for everyone to enjoy. The Fall anime season has historically been my favourite, so let’s see what this year has to offer! Let’s get into our list of the best upcoming Fall 2025 anime shows!

My Hero Academia: Final Season

Fall 2025 Anime - My Hero Academia

After nearly 10 years on the air, the time has finally come for My Hero Academia to end, and if the promotional material is anything to go by, the series is looking to go out with a bang this Fall. I can’t say that throughout its run My Hero Academia has been my favourite anime – some of these seasons have felt like a real slog to get through. However, things have been really heating up for the show as it gradually moves towards its end, and without a doubt, My Hero Academia‘s final season will be one of, if not the, most talked about Fall 2025 anime.

If you’ve been living under a rock when it comes to anime, and happen to have never heard of My Hero Academia, it tells the story of a young superhero named Deku as he attends a high-school for superpowered students, with him and his classmates eventually being roped-in to taking down world-ending threats. For fans of blood-pumping superhero stories, this might just be the show to watch out for this Fall 2025. This final season is the series’ eighth, so there’ll be plenty of catching up to do for fans who are behind. However, catching up is probably worth it for the explosive conclusion that My Hero Academia is promising this Fall 2025 anime season.

This Monster Wants to Eat Me

As soon as I heard reviews of the This Monster Wants to Eat Me manga calling it the perfect companion to The Summer Hikaru Died, I knew this was an anime I had to have on my radar this Fall 2025 anime season. The Summer Hikaru Died was my favourite anime of the Summer 2025 season, and where that series explored the emotional turmoil of being homosexual in a small town through the medium of a ghost story, This Monster Wants to Eat Me explores a similarly macabre story, this time involving two women at the centre of its twisted love story.

After experiencing a tragedy, crushing her spirit, Hinako wishes to die. When she meets a mermaid yōkai who wishes to consume her, Hinako agrees to be eaten by the yōkai when she is at her most delicious. In the meantime, the yōkai agrees to protect Hinako from other spirits out to get her. This storyline is truly fascinating to me, a compellingly twisted story that does remind me of the horror-romance elements of The Summer Hikaru Died. For fans of horror, and LGBTQ+ stories in anime, this is the anime for you this Fall. Mark it down on your Fall 2025 anime calendar!

Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class

This is probably not a series that’s going to cross the radar of many anime fans, but if you’re like me, and you absolutely adored Gintama, there’s an undeniable thrill to see the cast returning for this series. Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class is a Gintama spin-off following the series’ already established characters as they attend school under the tutelage of Gintoki himself. This is undoubtedly going to be a gag-humour show, with very little storyline going on, but in may ways, the comedy was what made Gintama such a special show.

There’s going to be very little for you to enjoy about this series unless you’re a Gintama fan, as I doubt much of it is going to make sense unless you’ve watched the original show, which is no small feat considering it clocks in at over 350 episodes. For me, however, I have been waiting to see the cast of Gintama return ever since the series broke my heart by ending back in 2021. I’ll certainly be tuning-in to Mr. Ginpachi’s Zany Class every single week, and I hope some of the Gintama fans out there among you will join me in reliving one of the greatest anime of all time.

One Punch Man Season 3

There’s a lot riding on this one. The second season of One Punch Man released back in 2019, so it’s no over-exaggeration to say that fans of the series have been waiting a long time to see Saitama back on their screens, and it’s finally happening this Fall. Personally, One Punch Man has never been my favourite show, but watching the first season release to such acclaim, the second season fall so short of expectations, and now the third season finally return is undeniably thrilling. How could you not pay attention to a bombshell like this?

I’ve heard great things about the contents of the One Punch Man manga, so I’m excited to see where this third season takes us. However, promotional material for this season has been causing quite a stir, as fans anticipate a poorly-animated misfire. Only time will tell if the teasers have been hiding the good stuff, or if J.C. Staff have completely fumbled one of the biggest anime properties out there. Regardless of your thoughts on the series so far, you’ll want to tune into this Fall 2025 anime. There’s going to be a lot to talk about.

Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation

So apparently, this anime is based on a mobile-game, and comes to us from the creator of Black Butler, Yana Toboso. None of this is particularly cause for excitement. However, I couldn’t help but add Disney Twisted-Wonderland to my Fall 2025 anime watchlist, because the concept of it is just so outlandish to me. This is either going to be one of the worst things I’ve ever seen, or the next Kingdom Hearts. It’s all-or-nothing when it comes to this series, and I need to watch it unfold in real time.

While I would like to give you a rundown of what is actually happening in this show, I can’t really tell what’s going on from the promotional material. What I can derive is that we’re following magic-users, and somehow, the Disney Villains are involved. Disney aren’t exactly known for signing-off on quality these days, so who knows how this is going to go. What I can say is that it’s refreshing to see something like this in the Fall 2025 anime line-up, when so many other anime series look like sloppy reskins of one another. Disney Twisted-Wonderland is going to be risky, but I can’t wait to see how it ends up playing out.

To Your Eternity Season 3

To Your Eternity is easily one of the most depressing shows I’ve ever seen. Each and every arc of this show has ended in complete devastation, so while I wish I could recommend you catch up on the first two seasons for this Fall, I’m not looking to inflict such levels of suffering on you. However, if you can handle it, To Your Eternity is a worthwhile watch, and with the third season promising to take the show in a whole new direction, there’s no better time than now to make sure you’re all caught up on the adventures of Fushi and friends.

To Your Eternity Season 3 sees Fushi continuing his adventure through the human world, but this time, the season is set in modern times. This is the first time we’ll be seeing Fushi interact with any sort of modern human civilization, and undoubtedly, tragedy is going to ensue. Despite how often it loves inflicting pain on its viewer, To Your Eternity is a beautifully-crafted show, and is worth much of the heartbreak it causes. If you’re looking for a tearjerker this season, add this show to your Fall 2025 anime calendar.

Spy x Family Season 3

Spy x Family is the most wholesome ongoing anime series, so anyone looking to put a smile on their face this Fall 2025 anime season needs to make it their business to catch up on this show. After an incredible film release, and a very solid second season, Spy x Family is back for more misadventures this season, and potentially some solid advancements in the plot that the show established back when it began. I hope that Spy x Family Season 3 turns up the heat a little when it comes to its action elements – all of the pieces are here for a really solid spy-thriller, with some heartfelt comedy mixed throughout. Now all the show needs to do is work with what it already has, and make some magic happen.

For those of you who haven’t caught up on the series, Spy x Family tells the story of a makeshift family, with each member in it for their own benefit. An undercover spy father, a secret assassin mother, a telepathic daughter, and a dog who can see into the future – the series sets up endless hijinks with its premise, and manages to be pretty funny along the way. From a comedy perspective, this is likely the most broadly-appealing series of the Fall 2025 anime season, so make sure to mark it down on your list if you’re looking for a laugh this season!

SANDA

The final entry on our list is easily the most unique anime of the season for me. Funnily enough, we’re finally getting a holiday-centric anime show that is actually going to air during the festive period it represents – I’m still not over Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus being a Summer anime. SANDA looks like an anime take on contemporary comedy movies such as Violent Night, as we watch a kick-ass Santa Claus star in a series animated by Science SARU, the team behind DAN DA DAN. Yep, we’re certainly in for a ride with this series.

The story of SANDA follows a descendant of Santa Claus, tasked with finding a missing classmate. I know very little about this series, but the manga doesn’t have comedy listed as one of its genres, so maybe this series is actually going to be really serious. All I know is that I need to see this show unfold for myself – it feels like a show you’ll have to see to believe. This may not be my most anticipated Fall 2025 anime, but it’s certainly the one I’m the most curious about, curiosity seeming to be my primary emotion going into this anime season.
